The creek my area is named after, Thornton Creek.
The district

That time we had a good day

Monday - every lesson cancelled and we had to take down our bunk bed because of the et last week. It was a crazy say. But we talked to some neat people.
Tuesday - service making Ethiopian food for some seniors. Then we had 4 lessons today, and invited 2 non members to read the Book of Mormon, we've been thrusting in the sickle and it's going great! Our district plan is to #makeseattlegreatagain by #floodingitwiththebookofmormon. It's a lot of fun
Wednesday - final district council, we have a sister dying right now. And exchanges with Elder Scheffner, he used to be my zone leader, it was a lot of fun! We talked to many people and shared the Book of Mormon a lot!
Thursday - finished the exchange, that was good, had more lessons cancel - but that's just a day in the life.
Friday - weekly planned, it was no fun, but it is very important and helps us accomplish the Lord's will so that's good. Also had a good Friday musical devotional at the stake center that was awesome! We had a friend come and he loved it, his name is Thomas and he is so awesome!
Saturday - almost everything cancelled again, we had some good days and some bad days this week. That's ok. Just focusing on serving the people we are teaching.
Sunday was great - Easter is always amazing and we had 2 people come to church and we found 2 new friends this week! The area is picking up a lot right now, I love it!
I love serving my Heavenly Father! He is so loving and I feel Him guiding us through His Holy Spirit every single day and increasing the love I have for His children.
Have a great week!

We met a street artist who wanted to take a picture of us at a bus stop so this is it

When Elder Schoemig sent this picture, I just absolutely love it.  That's a good picture of our son.  :)

My boy Steven

That time we lost a companion?? I forgot to send this last week so here it is!

Hello from the beautiful city of Seattle, which we heard is dying. But not really because the gospel is being spread and we are finding new people to teach!!!
But we did lose Elder Perez, in another ET, he got sent back to Elliot Bay so we are now just two lonely missionaries in Thornton Creek, it was really interesting. God really has a sense of humor!
I just loved talking to people this week, we met a new person Thomas on the street in the sketchiest part of our area, but he doesn't live there so we're ok mom! It's just amazing how much I feel God guiding me to talk to the right people while we are out, every once in a while I will just feel like I can't just walk past a person - I am always talking to everyone but every so often the Spirit will compel me so strongly to talk to someone that I can't say no at all - it's awesome!
Shout out to the elders in ASL South for helping our friend Steven get baptized this week - they invited me back to the branch to perform the confirmation and it turns out the branch all thought I had gone home for a little bit😂😂 so it was like I came back to life - it was hilarious!
We had stake conference in Seattle North Stake yesterday and it was so POWERFUL! Elder David L Wright - an area 70 - presided and he spoke so powerfully of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It was amazing-I honestly don't know how to explain it but it was just amazing!
I love being a missionary, everyone keeps bringing up the fact that I'm going home soon and it's just making me want to work so much harder right now. So that's good, don't get trunky elders and sisters😉
I know that this is the work of the Lord, there are too many miracles for it not to be. Trust in Him and His immediate goodness. (see a general conference talk from an Elder McKay on Sunday afternoon for that)
Love ya!

That time I got emergency transferred

So big news is what? I got emergency transferred technically, I still cover my old area but we added a new ward and a new companion, Elder Perez. So we now have three of us and we cover two wards at opposite ends of our zone and we still don't have a car😂😂 it's awesome. But I now cover downtown Seattle, that place is crazy! It's so awesome haha.
Also general conference was so hype. I loved learning from the Lord through His servants. I encourage you all to read and reread the talks given. Sister Craven, Elder McKay, Elder Cook from the Apostles, Elder Christofferson, and Elder Uchtdorf were some of my favorites. Also the first presidency. I just can't pick my favorite, they were all too good!
Also shout out to my sister it's her birthday tomorrow - she's a baller.
I love to be a missionary - I love my companions - I love serving my God.
Have a good week,

Elder Schoemig - 4/1/19

That time we got called prophets

So... A homeless man called Elder Bradley and I prophets. That was a major highlight of the week. But for real it was a pretty good contact with that guy.
In other news we found some friends this week in a pretty miraculous way! Our lessons with part member families (those would have given us new friends) cancelled and so we went out walking the streets and we were actually about to head home when we felt like we should go check out these people hanging out outside of a U-haul truck so we did and they said "You showed up at the perfect time!" and then things happened, we cast out a demon, it was crazy, but we found new friends! It was so awesome! The Spirit was crazy strong, God guides His missionaries. It is awesome to be guided to help people when they need help.
But I just love my mission, I love the people I serve and serve with, I love the sun (because that's been out for the past couple days) and most of all I love the Son, Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.
Love you all!
