That time my pants ripped and my heart broke

So this week big news is that my pants ripped, like pretty huge rip, but it was in the apartment so we were safe, but they were my favorite pants so that's a bummer ðŸ˜‚😂
Other than that it was a great week! We found a new friend to teach and tonight we should find another and then we are just going to keep the ball rolling! This area has seen a lot of growth since we started and I just love seeing out hard work and desire to follow the Spirit being answered with miracles!
Just some highlights
- Exchanges with Elder Winget, he's a baller, that's where we found a new friend!
- Lesson with a friend and a returning member who both just said "we want to go to church just to take the sacrament!"
- One night we felt inspired to pray for someone to be interested in family history and the next day we found someone, then we kept praying for it and we found someone for every night that we prayed for it!
- We are teaching a Marshallese deaf lady who is a member but never learned the gospel in sign language so she is just so excited to actually learn it now! It is so fun to teach her!
- Met a deaf couple who at first was kind of not willing to talk but we were able to be persuasive teachers and will be going back this week!
- Taught the Young family yesterday with just a bunch of members and the mom, who is the least willing to learn asked us a question at the end of the lesson and it was a great sign that her heart is changing!
So I don't know if you could say there were miracles this week but.... There totally were some miracles this week. The Spirit is a master guide and a master teacher, so great!
Funny story
- Elder Luckau is still learning sign language and so makes mistakes a gets a little flustered and just says sorry a lot so the Strattons officially gave him a new name sign its sorry with an "L". But the way they gave it to him was so funny, he said sorry for like the fourth time in a minute and a half and Sister Stratton just says "Alright! That's it! New name sign! Elder "L"sorry!" and I just couldn't hold it in I started laughing so hard it was a good time
- Second funny story we were trying to meet these deaf people in the middle of Sultan - middle of nowhere Washington - and they have this bell on their porch so the only thing we could think was to ring it, so we ring it twice when their neighbor from down the road walks all the way down to us and says (in a lot more colorful language) "they're deaf! It's not going to work!", which kind of shocked Elder Luckau so I said "oh really? Then how do we meet them?" the neighbor replied "wave your arms (the blinds were all closed, they couldn't see us even if we did do that) or just leave!" I just said "ok thank you! God bless you!" when he finally left, still swearing profusely. We rang the bell for the second time and they totally answered it! ðŸ˜‚😂😂 He got all mad at us but it worked! I thought that was funny. Maybe I'm just weird haha.
Anyways, I just love being out here, the opportunity to be a full time servant of my God and the privilege to hold His priesthood and to receive His Spirit is the greatest! I'm so grateful for repentance that I can try every day to dust myself off and try to be better and to be a more worthy servant. I love repenting!
