That time Elder Whiting came

Hi everyone!
Elder Schoemig here, Elder Whiting from the Seventy came to our mission and just taught us. Some quotes
"Will you just for a moment have eyes too see?"
"Try to become the missionary your mom thinks you are!"
"Be open about what the Book of Mormon means to you"
Then some savage roasts
"This (pointing to scriptures) is holy, but this (pointing to phone) is unholy. So if you could read from your unholy device Elder"
"what does the Spirit feel like to you?" "a pull" "a pole? Whatever that means"
It was great! It got the zone so hyped to get out to work!
I love serving the Lord and I'm excited to see the miracles this week! He guides His servants every day!

That time we taught 20 lessons

The Book of Elder Schoemig
Chapter 37
The Elders in the ASL South area work hard. They go on exchanges with the Assistants to the President. They have zone conference and see miracles follow. They teach twenty lessons.

1 And it came to pass, I, Elder Schoemig and my companion in the Lord, Elder Lund went forth into Lacey, where we taught the mighty people of the Wilson clan the everlasting gospel. They received it with much joy and gladness, there was much rejoicing together to see old friends.
2 But behold, on the morrow Elder Lund was taken up into Beverly Park, and so Elder Schoemig departed into the wilderness with Elder Ivie, where we learned much and taught the gospel to amongst the deaf and the deaf and blind.
3 Elder Lund returned to me. And it came to pass that we went into the Lynnwood area again to council with the Elders and Sisters in that land, after which we departed to the land which is at Tacoma to bless a member with a sore heart.
4 The Assistants to the President came down to the land of Seattle, and again took Elder Lund away to a distant land of Alderwood, Elder Messick and Elder Schoemig went to work at Tacoma. We taught many lessons and gave many people a knowledge of the gospel, many were referred to missionaries with the knowledge of the English language. Elder Lund was brought again to the land of ASL South.
5 On the morrow we returned to the land of Lynnwood for the conference of the zone. There the President of the Washington Everett mission taught much of the Gospel. Prayer and study were preached and repentance was required. We marveled at the glory of God on that day.
6 7 lessons were preached to people of all shapes and sizes. Two from the distant land of Bhutan. Several from Washington.
7 Behold we were faithful and diligent in striving to teach twenty lessons in this week, and we were still five away. And so we set out with faith thay the Lord would provide. And so He did, order lessons were taught on that, the last day of the week, so that the goal could be accomplished of teaching 20 lessons to the people of Washington, and we did pray to give thanks to the Lord our God for the marvelous blessings of miracles which did abound with us and our friends in the service of the Lord.

Love you all!

8 And thus Elder Schoemig took a photograph to prove that he was still alive for his mother.

Lovely ankle - 10/8/18

That time we wore suits six days of the week. Also that time General Conference was absolutely great!

We just had many meetings this week. Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, Thursday all day, Friday nothing! Saturday conference, Sunday conference. They were all great meetings though! Very Spirit led discussions.
But to the real MVP. General Conference was great! Elder Christoffersons talk was my favorite. Either God is real or He is not, if He is; follow Him. That is what it is, the gospel doesn't need to be complicated, once you have your answer that is the answer and we should try to stay focused on that! I loved it. And then all of the Apostles talks were great. Then as each temple was announced I just felt that it was perfect, the Spirit really testified to me that these were right. I loved it.
But this week we were able to get some solid appointments set up. We are really pushing to teach 20 lessons this week. That is our mission goal so we are going to hit it this week.
Other than that not much. Just hitting the grind as much as we can!
Also elder Camillo Gois wrecked my ankle last pday. See pictures. It looked worse in real life. You can ask Elder Lund.
Love you all! I know we are led by a prophet of God today President Russell M Nelson, if you follow his council you will be safe!

Thinking of his brother...Dakota :) 10/1/18

That time I didn't want to write a weekly email.. Sorry

Hello mom! Sorry Elder Lund and I are super busy so we don't have a lot of time! But I wanted to let you know some things that happened this week!
So Wednesday was transfers, had a meeting then transfers happened. Elder Lund and I got our minivan! Yes they are giving us a minivan! We were so shocked that they actually gave us a minivan. But we made it work. Our parking spot is really tiny because downtown Seattle so the passenger has to get out of the rear driver's side door so you just scramble out the back, it's so awesome. Then Thursday we had ASL class and some finding. A good district council. We went to Elder Allmendingers district council, he is a district leader now! So good!
Friday our minivan broke down, it had a brake malfunction or something, we are getting it back tonight though. We just chilled at a members house in Kent, luckily we broke down like two minutes from their house but we had to wait for some help all the way from mill creek. So we did service in our pros clothes for the members we were chilling with. Then we got our replacement car and went to do weekly planning at a church. We here they locked us in the parking lot so we had to off road our Chevy Malibu out of the parking lot it was fun! Then an awesome dinner with a great member. His name is Amorn, he is deaf and about 16. I just love him so much. he is so awesome!
Then Saturday got surprised call to the emergency room for one of our friends that we are teaching. She is doing OK now. And then to Olympia for dinner with the Pecks.
Sunday church was good, we have been having a rough time getting our friends to come to church. But we are really excited to get to work and friend some other people and help the friends we are currently working with get to progressing! Today just running around doing random things mostly.
I love being out here, the work is the most exciting thing to be doing. I love it!
Love you mom! And everyone else!
